I have told lots of people that my time in London was much more fun, much more memorable, and much more rewarding than my time in 2003. That's not to say I didn't have a good time in 2003. I saw a lot of sites. I ate good food. I have lots of stories to tell from my few weeks there. The difference is that this time, I went there and developed friendships. Being able to enjoy the time I spent with others while there made all of the difference.
Likewise, we're only 5 months into 2010 and it feels like I have lived three years in this short space of time. I can credit that to enjoying myself with friends. To developing so many memories that I will cherish. From a bachelorette party in Las Vegas to the friends wedding yesterday. From the joy of volunteering to help others in Costa Rica, to sitting at the V&A in Kensington watching children splash in the fountains. From a late night at Mr G's in San Diego with reconnected friends, to a late night with new friends at the private club Raffles in London. Really, I have been blessed with a worldwide network of friends.
And it's reminded of the one thing I've ever wanted to be cocky about -- I have more genuine friendships in my life than I ever thought possible. And it makes me wanna ride around with my head held high, knowing that I'm so fortunate!
