Warm sunshine rays bathe the ocean reflecting a glow across her face,
A navy vessel sits motionless--a picturesque part of this viewing place.
Her heart is stilled, as she waits-
A signal, a wave, a whisper to release the dark memories of her mind.
The wind blows her hair softly,
The birds chirp, the squirrels scamper; she waits and watches, bidding her time.
A tear streams down her face,
She's lost in the beauty of the now and the calmness of that never forgotten place.
Faintly, a smile brushes past her lips as a stranger walks by,
Neighborly, friendly, but not the right one
She continues waiting,
Recognizing love in its many forms.
Knowing none take the form she needs
So, she continues to wait for the one that will put all the pieces in place.
